Product care
All of our products are designed and built to the highest standards. With proper care, they will last for generations. Find essential guidance below for preserving your Steelyjam guitar.

Aluminum body
Hand-brushed finish
Clean the surface with a soft dry cloth. This raw finish will naturally evolve over time with use, developing its own character. If you wish to modify or refresh the surface pattern, use 180 grit sandpaper with a small amount of water. Be careful to avoid contact with the pickguard and other non aluminium parts.
Metallic paint finish
Use a soft slightly damp cloth to clean the surface. Avoid aggressive cleaners or rough materials that could damage the paint. Dry immediately after cleaning to prevent marks and preserve the depth, gloss and uniformity of the metallic finish.
Neck and fretboard
Natural wood and fretboard care
Clean regularly with a soft dry cloth. For unfinished fretboards, apply lemon oil occasionally to nourish the wood and prevent drying. This maintains a smooth feel, preserves stability and keeps the natural appearance of the wood over time.
High-gloss varnish maintenance
Use a microfiber cloth to remove fingerprints and dust. Avoid harsh products that could damage the varnish. Gentle and regular cleaning helps maintain shine, prevents buildup and keeps a smooth and consistent surface.
Hardware and electronics
Nickel and chrome plating
Wipe hardware after playing to remove moisture and sweat. Use a soft cloth only. This helps prevent oxidation, maintains shine and preserves the original appearance of nickel and chrome plated parts over time.
Bridge, tuners and potentiometers
Keep components clean and free of dust. Ensure smooth movement of tuners and controls. Avoid liquid contact with electronics. If you experience crackling on potentiometers, use a suitable electronic contact cleaner. Regular care ensures reliable performance, precise tuning and long term durability.
Environment and storage
Humidity, temperature and UV exposure
Avoid extreme temperature changes, high humidity and direct sunlight. While aluminium offers excellent stability, the presence of wood in the neck requires controlled conditions to preserve playability, finishes and overall instrument performance.
Storage and travel guidelines
Store your instrument in the provided gigbag or hardshell case when not in use. During transport, ensure proper protection against shocks and pressure. A controlled environment helps maintain tuning stability and overall condition.
