Our story
Steelyjam was born from the desire to create guitars that are both high performance, technologically advanced, and perfectly balanced. All with a clear and unique identity.

This project was driven by Arthur Devreux (co-creator, designer and luthier) and Jean-Baptiste Demarcin (co-creator and commercial director), both passionate about music and united to bring the brand to life. It all began in 2005 when Arthur Devreux, a self-taught luthier and guitarist, built his first electric guitar with a steel body. The unique sound of this instrument stayed with him and later led, in October 2022, to the design of what would become the first Steelyjam model. The brand name is actually derived from this initial prototype made from steel sheets. Through research and development, aluminium replaced steel as the ideal material due to its advantages.
On 31 March 2023, after a long phase of collaboration and experimentation, Arthur and Jean-Baptiste released the first alpha model. This marked a key milestone and the official launch of the brand. Since then, the manufacturing process has evolved, integrating advanced machining technologies to produce high-end instruments in series. From that point, the focus shifted toward refining both the design and production process, ensuring consistency, precision, and reliability.
These past two years, the brand has participated in numerous international guitar shows (Guitar Summit, Montreux International Guitar Show, Paris Guitar Festival, NAMM), gathering valuable feedback from musicians and industry professionals. These exchanges have played a key role in refining the instruments, validating design choices, and improving every aspect of the instruments.
Our philosophy
We build instruments, not compromises. Precision, innovation, and design are not options for us, they are the starting point. Our approach sits at the crossroads of innovation and tradition. We respect the foundations of instrument making, but we are not bound by them. Modern materials, precise engineering, and a clear design identity are how we move things forward, without losing sight of what makes a great guitar great. Every decision we make, from material choice to the smallest hardware detail, is guided by performance, reliability, and consistency. Not trends. Not shortcuts. Just instruments that work, feel right, and hold up over time.
